Heather Watson visits and trains with our Academy players!
Heather Watson was in Jersey competing in her second senior professional tournament last week.The 16-year-old Guernsey star was given a wild card entry into the main competition. Heather won her first round match, but was knocked out in the second round by the eventual winner Katie O'Brien.
Many of our Academy junior supported the event by giving their time working as ball boys and ball girls. We invited Heather to come to Grainville Club to meet our Academy junior players to train and to get to know each other.
Head coach Joe Keany said: “What an amazing opportunity for our Academy players to meet, train and spend some quality time with Heather, I know that that our juniors will benefit from this experience. We are all grateful to Heather and her coach Andrew Fisher for giving us their time. We wish Heather the best for her future career as an up and coming professional tennis player!”
